Our beneficiaries: YMCA Vietnam focus on education and infrastructure setup for children living below the poverty line at Ben Tre province, whose families are usually engaged as workers in agricultural sector such as rice, coconut and sugarcane plantations.
WHAT THE VOLUNTEERS DO?
  • Teaching at Phuoc Long 2 Primary School (Subordinate Branch) The young children in Phuoc Long 2 Primary School have little or no foundation in English but have shown keen interest to learn the language, thus volunteers from YMCA are tasked to carry out English lessons for students in the school. In addition to the English lessons, an English-speaking competition, games, music, dance and visual arts activities can be included.
  • Infrastructure Rebuilding Project The school is situated at one of the poorest communes in Giong Trom District. Volunteers will be involved in improving the learning environment of the school which includes renovation of 2 classrooms. Professional workers will be hired and the team will assist accordingly.
